Beijing Key Lab for Immunological Research on Chronic Diseases Awarded to the Immunology Team

The team of immunology formed by research groups in the Institute for Immunology, School of Medicine and School of Life Sciences in Tsinghua University was granted Beijing Key Lab for Immunological Research on Chronic Diseases, issued after expert review and on-site evaluation.

 

The School of Medicine and School of Life Sciences in Tsinghua University have made concerted efforts to recruit top talents in the field of immunology for the past few years. Jointly established by the two schools in 2014 and founded by Dr. Chen Dong, the Institute for Immunology has made great progress of building a strong team with diverse expertise in areas of innate immunity, adaptive immunity, inflammation and autoimmune diseases, and tumor immunology. The issued Beijing Key Lab for Immunological Research on Chronic Diseases now has a total of 30 principal investigators and co-principal investigators, including four fellows of "National Thousand Talents Program'', five awardees of "Changjiang Scholars Program ", five awardees of "National Distinguished Young Scientist", three chief scientists of "Key Projects of Ministry of Science and Technology", four awardees of "National Outstanding Young Scientist", three awardees of "New Century Talent", and four ''Thousand Young Talents Program''. The research team has been developed into a community committed to research in three aspects, which the key lab focuses on: immune cell development and function, immune responses in pathogenesis of chronic diseases, and translational research.

 

The Beijing Key Lab for Immunological Research on Chronic Diseases endeavors to promote the scientific excellence and technological innovations in Beijing. Not only will it strive to uphold the innovative drug research and development, drive the development of bio-pharmaceutical industry, but will also provide new opportunities for clinical diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases, improve the life quality of patients with deliberating diseases, and bring a significant impact on the social and economic advancements.
