- Immunolog Seminar Series | Meng Sun
- Population variations in immune responses to infectious diseases and vaccinationMeng Sun, Ph.D.Institute of Immunity,Transplantation and Infection,Stanford UniversityAbstractThere is considerable variation in how different populations respond to infectious diseases and vaccinations. For instance, a subset of individuals, known as tuberculosis ‘resisters’ (TB RSTR), never develop infections with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) despite high levels of exposure. Recently, the long-established role

- Immunology Seminar Series | Xiaofei Yu
- Gut-relayed physiological regulationXiaofei Yu (于肖飞), Ph.D.Fudan UniversityAbstractThe intestine plays a pivotal role in food digestion and nutrient absorption and is essential to human health and disease. In addition to ingested food, the intestine is also home to trillions of resident microbes called the microbiota, which break down and convert food components to host-accessible nutrients. Therefore, nutrients and microbes comprise the dynamic environment within the intestinal lumen, which exe

- Immunology Seminar Series | Chao Zhong
- Transcriptional and metabolic regulation of innate lymphoid cellsChao Zhong, Ph.D.Department of Immunology,School of Basic Medical Sciences,Peking UniversityAbstractInnate lymphoid cells (ILCs), which functionally resemble the adaptive CD4 T helper cells, play critical roles in maintaining tissue homeostasis. The regulatory mechanisms beneath their development and function have garnered significant attention. We unearthed that the transcription factor GATA3 serves as a master regulator of the pr
